How does fat loss for a woman differ from fat loss in a man? Simple, we hold onto fat in a completely different way to men because of our primary role as mother. Regardless of whether or not you ever intend to become a mother, the simple fact is that women will always have more fat in their body than men and this is because nature has designed our bodies to be reproducing machines.
Women typically carry more fat around their middle, their hips and thighs, and this is to make energy (as fat) available for an unborn child to ensure its survival should food be scarce. The added benefit of the extra fat is that it forms a protective layer around the baby preventing it from getting harmed should the mother fall and hurt herself.
Fat loss for women is hard business in itself. If men and women ate the same things and did the same exercises, studies show that men would be leaner than their female counterparts. This biological difference explain why when women have babies, they tend to carry extra fat around their middle after birth.
However, it is perfectly possible to attain a slim sleek body that people will admire and aspire to, regardless of your gender. We have all heard of celebrities killing themselves with three hour gym sessions to stay super-toned, but the average woman wants to be slim, sexy and curvy. NOT skinny.
The saying that ‘thin is in’ is no longer true. Size zero is out and the trend is moving back towards women with curves. You DON’T have to spend ridiculous hours in the gym or live off lettuce leaves. True fat loss for women is a combination of what they eat, how they eat and what they do to stay fit.
Spending just 30 minutes daily on cardio and specific toning exercises can really help to melt the fat away and tone your body slim. Coupled with sensible eating habits and the odd indulgence, there is no reason why you cannot remain slim forever.
