    Sometimes you get stuck for inspiration when you are cooking, and this is especially true of dieting. Here are two examples of great low carb diet recipes which take very little time and effort and taste great.

    Some of the best low carb diet recipes include chicken and fish, so we have too! Chicken and fish are examples of lean protein and are very good for you. Turkey can also be used and works just as well, although can be a little dry.

    Chicken kebabs – A hit with everyone, you can leave the chicken in the marinade for up to 3 days in the fridge and use as needed. Take one cup of low fat yogurt and add 1tsp each of: salt, red chilli powder, crushed cumin seeds, crushed coriander seeds, garlic and ginger powder. Now add 3 tbsp of Thai sweet chilli sauce (or ketchup), 2 tbsp of lemon juice and some fresh chopped coriander. Mix it really well and taste – you should have a spicy mix which isn’t too sharp.

    Now add in 2lbs of boneless chicken and leave to marinade for at least an hour. To cook, simply place in a health grill or cook on a griddle or even in the oven until completely cooked through. Serve with salad.

    Other low carb diet recipes as a variation of the above can include chunks of fish or boneless turkey.

    Easy fish soup – An excellent one to whip up in less than 10 minutes. Place a piece of breaded haddock or cod fillet in a grill and cook thoroughly, turning regularly. Alternatively, place in a health grill. Meanwhile, using instant packet mushroom soup such as Bachelors cup of soup. Boil a mug of water and add the soup to it. Mix it up and let it thicken. Season with black pepper. Once fish is cooked, place in a deep soup bowl and break it up into bits. Pour the soup over and add a small tsp of humus to it for more flavor. Serve immediately.

    These dishes take little time and effort and taste great. Best of all you can experiment with additional flavors too.
