Sick of wearing baggy pants to hide your legs? Do you want to tone your thighs? Here are some hot tips on how to effectively shape your legs.
The thigh consists of the upper half of the leg, between the pelvis and the knee. It is a muscular, strong part of the body and in order to look and feel good, has to be taken care of considerably.
To tone your thighs, several exercises are very useful. Thigh toner number one are squats; ten to fifteen of these a day really help to keep your legs shapely. To perform a squat:
- Stand with legs hip width apart. Pull your belly button inwards, towards your spine and contract the abdominal muscles.
- Slowly lower your bottom as though you’re about to take a seat. Try getting to a 90 degree angle, going as low as you can.
- Hold this position for a few seconds, ensuring your toes are INFRONT of your knees. You should really feel the pull in your thigh muscles, but ensure you don’t do anything which is too strenuous for you.
- Distributing the weight on your heels, SLOWLY push your body back to starting position. Do NOT lock your knees or pull up too quickly.
- Repeat this 10-15 times a day.
Another great way to tone your thighs includes leg raises. To do a leg raise:
- Lie flat on your back on the floor, using a mat for padding if necessary.
- Place hand under buttocks in a position comfortable for you. Lift your legs slowly from the floor, keeping them as straight as possible, knees locked.
