    Cellulite can be cripplingly embarrassing for any woman. No body likes the sight of cellulite- riddled thighs, and it can really be depressing if you don’t know how to get rid of it. Thank goodness for the Anti-cellulite diet!

    What is cellulite?

    We don’t actually know why women have cellulite, and sadly there is no medicinal cure for it either.

    Cellulite is simply fat that is localized in areas of the body, typically the thighs, buttocks and arms. It can appear in other places, too. It is believed that every woman has cellulite, whether a small amount or more (depending on your genes).

    Doctor’s believe that hormonal levels and changes, as well as diet and lifestyle, all contribute to levels of cellulite. It comes from tissue beneath the skin being inconsistently patterned, resulting in the dimpled-appearance on the surface. Men have smoother skin in the same areas.

    So how does the Anti-cellulite diet work?

    The Anti-Cellulite diet focuses on expelling toxins and impurities from the body. There are many steps you can take to help yourself.

    • Drink lots of water; aim for around 1.5-2 liters a day. This will cleanse your blood, get rid of excess weight and make your skin glow. The cleaner your blood, the less cellulite!
    • Eat organic fruits and vegetables. They help to eliminate toxins and give you lots of energy, as well as aiding digestion
    • If you smoke, try to give up or smoke less. The pollutants found in cigarettes really encourage cellulite to make a home on your thighs. The same goes for alcohol
    • Oily fish such as mackerel and salmon, as well as grains and nuts provide the body with natural fats which help regulate our body’s fat metabolism
    • Avoid foods with a lot of additives and sweeteners. Sugar is a big cause of cellulite

    The Anti-Cellulite diet encourages healthy eating and lots of exercise. A top-tip is to gently massage affected areas with a hard-bristled body brush for 10 minutes a day in the morning. This will smooth the appearance of your skin. Keep it up and you will have peachy thighs in no time at all.

    • I have made an effort for thirty years to get rid of cellulite, but I’ve officially given up….LOL
