Everybody wants to have a flat stomach, but there are so many myths about how to achieve this. It’s time to separate fact from fiction. If you want a flat stomach there are some simple rules to follow which will enable you to gain this.
When we think of losing belly-fat, we imagine lots of strenuous sit-ups and crunches. But, while these toning exercises are helpful, they are not enough to flatten your stomach.
To burn the fat covering your belly muscles you have to incorporate a cardio workout and changed eating habits into your lifestyle. The easiest way to do this is through a healthy-eating plan.
Eat smaller more regular meals as opposed to larger portion sizes. Instead of 3 big meals a day, have 6 small meals instead. This will ensure that you aren’t hungry for long as well as stabilizing your metabolism. Remember, when eating 6 meals a day, a simple yoghurt and a piece of fruit can consist of a ‘meal.’ It is essential that portion sizes are reduced.
Choose to snack on nutritious foods. Go for fruit, rice cakes and vegetables instead of fried, salty foods like chips. You will be pleasantly surprised at how long you’re kept satisfied.
Aim to drink between 1 and 1.5 liters of water a day; split it up into 8 glasses to make it easier. This will keep you hydrated and vitalized. Have a glass of water before each meal and it will help you eat less by filling your stomach.
Make sure you eat breakfast. This will boost your metabolism and you won’t eat as much later in the day.
To really get a flat stomach, you must exercise as well as eating healthily. Stomach-toners include the crunch, sit-ups and cardio exercises like running and skipping. It is the only way to do away with the layers of fat that sit on the belly muscles.
Lead an active lifestyle. Try to take up an enjoyable sport as a hobby outside of your daily work-out, like yoga or biking. There is a world of active-based fun out there- it’s just a matter of finding something you like.
